3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 ¼ cups flour
3 level tsp baking soda
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cloves
¼ tsp ginger
¼ tsp salt
4 tablespoons dark molasses
Thoroughly mix by hand and form into round balls Roll in granulated sugar Grease your cookie sheets and leave room for the cookies to flatten out. Bake at 350℉ for 12- 15 minutes
Will flatten out and have cracks on the top. Tend to burn easily
